How do you get inspired to write?

Jon Rance I wake up! It's that simple for me. I get inspiration from everything; life, stories, TV, books, films, overheard conversations, snippets of life, and just being alive. Reading a newspaper article can inspire a whole novel. I think that when you're a writer, you're just open to everything. You don't just see a picture or have lunch, you're always trying to see how it could fit into a book or create a new story.
