George Mercer
George Mercer asked Leanne J. Minton:

Hi Leanne. I must admit I am just getting into Goodreads so have little experience with it yet. Just seeing your comment now. Kind of swamped with promotion and marketing but gradually making my way through writing "Wood Buffalo". Hope to have it out early in the new year. How are sales for you?

Leanne J. Minton Great to hear from you, George! John McLay (Canadian author of "On Mountaintop Rock") put me onto Goodreads just recently so it's been a new venture for me too. Yes, life for writers has certainly changed, at least for Indie ones. The hard job used to be the writing of the book, but now that's the easy part, and hard part is promoting it. I only get time to do that in the school holidays so my promotion of Blue Creek Bride is rather patchy, much to my frustration. Sales are slower than I'd like - Kiwis have been embracing of the Canadian Rocky wilderness experience but I feel its true audience is North Americans, and then I'm hampered by the fact I don't live there. So many book stores indicated they would stock BCB if I could drop them off some copies - something I could only do if I was living back in Canada. To be stymied like this is frustrating. I should probably work on getting feedback online from all the people who have read and enjoyed the book. I'm glad you have a new book to work on as writing is a real joy. Kind regards to you and your wife!
