Goodreads asked Niall Teasdale:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Niall Teasdale I let it happen. For me (lucky me) it rarely lasts long. Sometimes I walk away from writing for a while because a break is a good thing. Mass Effect really killed my writing for a couple of months, but I'd just finished 11 books and 2 anthologies about Ceri and Lily, and I needed the rest. And all that sci-fi resulted in Aneka, so... big plus there.

If I'm stuck on writing something it usually means I need to think on it, or prune the text back and start again. I very rarely do extensive plot editing once I've finished a book. The first draft is what hits the streets. During production is another matter. I've got two-thirds of the way through a story, realised it was a mess, and pruned it back or started from scratch.
