A common thing in all of your books, I find, is the presence of strong female characters (e.g. Alice, Mam, Grimalkin, Thorne, Kwin, Jenny, etc.). Why is this?

Joseph Delaney Females are often in disadvantaged situations and are underdogs. I like placing my characters in such situations and then turning the situation so they are strong and rebellious. Arena 13 features Kwin who is a strong addition to that list!
