It's not as comprehensive as Larson's book but the writing style is more accessible. They are both very good, I read both and enjoyed them equally.

No. Erick Larson: Isaac's Storm is the definitive narration of the destruction of Galveston, TX. Factual and historical detail is extensive.
A.L.Roker: Storm of the Century, in comparison is weak. It reads as if composed with speed & lack of editing and proofing. There are many errors in grammar and spelling.
Larson is an historian. Roker is a meteorologist. Each is professional in his respective field. Larson is the preferred choice for this subject.

Haven't read Isaac's Storm. This book has a lot more information about The history of Galveston, the Weather Bureau and weather instruments. Very interesting so far.

I'm also interested in knowing this as well.
