In Bartimaeus there is very interesting relationship between the magicians, the commoners and the spirits. Is such kind of a society and government present all over the world or just England in that universe during that time? Please do write more Bartimaeus stories :)

Jonathan Stroud Thanks! The political set-up in England in the Bart stories is particular to that country at that historical period. In earlier times different magician-led regimes ruled in other countries. Magicians tend to flock to wherever the power is.
