A Goodreads user
asked:
In my copy of this book, there is no period at the end of the final sentence. Is that the way it was originally written or is this a typographical error? Normally I would assume it was a mistake, but I haven't studied London enough to know his style and I know there are plenty of modern writers who would do this on purpose.

Mine didn't have a period either on the final sentence.

I happen to have a 1909 edition. It was published by "The Review of Reviews Company," so it is not a first edition. However, it's probably a good representation of the original. This version has a period at the end of the book.
This is an scan of the edition...
