Goodreads asked Andrew Buckley:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Andrew Buckley I always thought I had at least one good horror novel in me. Not true, not true at all. The problem with writing satirical fantasy and comedy is that it's almost impossible not to see everything through that same particular pair of glasses. I started Hair in All the Wrong Places as a horror novel called Elkwood and then it quickly became apparent that I can't write without humor. So while Hair in All the Wrong Places is a true werewolf novel, there are funny bits throughout :) The concept came more from an idea I had for a film project over a decade ago to shoot a series of short films based around this one small town called Elkwood. It evolved and became various other projects before manifesting itself as my almost complete WIP.
