Well, that doesn't happen often with me but usually it is because I have not done enough research or need to outline a bit, or need a break. So I read in the genre I am writing in, or watch movies in the same genre or go to a completely different sub-genre and work on that.
Often, to stop from blocking, I will stop when I know what comes next so have a place to start when I pick it up the next day.
Sometimes, a power-writing session is the best for breaking through any block.
