What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Wesley Robert Lowe I am also a filmmaker. Even the lowest budget films can cost a lot of money so story compromises need to be made for the sake of lowering costs. A great thing about being a writer is that I can write "a million giraffes have been airlifted to Central Park in New York" and it won't cost a thing. You are free to tell story you want without being worried about budget.
