Goodreads asked R.B. Anderson:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

R.B. Anderson Be true to your voice. A good writer has a way of saying things. Take this example from The Dark Tower by Stephen King:
"the gross carbon of wish and opinion was often blasted into the hard diamonds which he called facts"
That is Stephen's dramatic way of looking at truth and questions the character has about what he considers facts.
Think about the number of ways that statement could be delivered – How you would pose that assertion.
