How do you deal with writer’s block?

'Nathan Burgoine It used to be that I dealt with writers block by getting up, moving around, and sometimes by working on a different short story instead. Since rescuing a dog, however, I find myself taking him for a walk or having a good conversation about why I'm stumped with him. He doesn't often come up with ideas, but he's a great listener.
