Actually, maps and other front matter pieces like that are driven mostly by my publisher -- I do have a map of the Valley, but it is a hilariously terrible stick-figure-quality one I scribbled up myself just to keep track of the order of the villages between the Dragon's Tower and the Wood so I wouldn't be inconsistent.
But I might ask them and see if they would like to get an artist to revise it into a nice version we could post on my site and include in a future edition.

In the Temeraire books, you touch on theological and philosophical questions; and you bring up the RIGHT questions, and refer to the kinds of answers that would actually be proposed by theologians and philosophers. (I have studied and taught philosophy and theology.) Have you studied these topics personally, or did you ask others who were well informed to give you ideas? (Either way, great job!)
