I am reading Life After Life and thoroughly enjoying it. It's been a long time since I have read a book I can't put down! I particularly enjoy the characters, one element that makes or breaks a book for me. I don't want this book to end! Are there other books by the author that you would recommend?

I would definitely recommend A God in Ruins, which is the companion book to Life After Life. It is about Teddy and is fantastic. I also happened to really like Behind the Scenes at the Museum and several of the Jackson Brodie books (particularly Case Histories and Started Early, Took My Dog. I really did NOT enjoy One Good Turn, the only Jackson Brodie book that really left me feeling flat). More recently, I thought Shrines of Gaiety was a bit of a let down also, I think because I just have such high hopes for a Kate Atkinson book as I love her writing. It had been a while to wait for Shrines of Gaiety and maybe I expected too much. There were some plot twists in it that I just really didn't love and thought were actually a bit lazy. Hoping she writes another no-Brodie book. I would love to see her go back and write another Todd family story! Maybe from the perspective of Sylvie. I just love her style and her wry witticism.
