How do you get inspired to write?

Cindy Skaggs Music + Time. A story has to ferment for awhile until it's ready to write. I've known the plot line for the next Untouchables for several weeks, but it had to simmer awhile. Then I picked up a new to me CD by Vance Joy (he sings Riptide). I played that CD until I could sing it in my sleep. It brought the characters and the situation to life like a good musical score does to a movie. NOW, finally, I am at the point where it's time to get it on paper.
