I love the fact that you have an album to go with "We All Looked Up", and will be downloading it asap! The songs are so, so good!! What made you decide to make an album to go with the book? Also, what made you decide to write from the 4 characters perspectives, and which character was the hardest to write? Thank you :) Loved the book, btw, first one to make me cry in a long while! :)

Hey Madeleine! Thanks so much!
I made the album because I've been a musician all my life, but it's very hard to make a living as a musician. As soon as I knew this book would be published, I recognized I had an opportunity to bring my two passions together. So voila: album!
The 4-character plan was there from the very beginning. I knew that to tell this end-of-the-world story, I wanted to be able to step back and tell a larger story than a lot of first-person contemporary YA often does (purely because it spends the whole book in one head). I'd say Anita and Andy were both difficult. Anita has a very different life experience from me, but she's a lot like me personality wise; Andy is more similar to me on the surface, but I'm nothing like him in real life (I've never done a drug for example, and I hate slacking).
So there you go! Thanks so much for reaching out. :)

Hi Tommy. How did you come up with the story for "Thanks for the trouble"? Is it really what you wrote to get into college or just your wonderful imagination making that part up as well? Just curious, it was one of the best I've ever read. Looking forward to your other works. -JJ
