I just finished reading your classic, Speak for the 4th time in 3 weeks- OMG! I love it so much! See, I had 2 brain injuries (& a few concussions); the first one made it so that I can't really speak (or I could, like I went in for acupuncture, but I had TBI #2). My question for you is after the book (or your mind, I guess), does she ever go for speech therapy?

In my imagination, I don't see that happening, because her partial silence was the result of her emotional trauma. As she begins to get help for the trauma, she will be able to speak up more comfortably. But every reader gets to make up her own mind!

Hi Laurie! I am a huge fan and am especially excited for Ashes (I've been waiting since 2012)!!! I have a question on the series. Is there any historical background to characters such as Curzon and Isabel? I know it is historical fiction (due to the Revolutionary War) but are there any stories about children during this war like the characters? Also, who do you relate to the most in the book? Thanks!!
