Penelope Douglas Hi! Great question.

Actually, I would say that Madoc was in a strange position compared to the others. He was the only one that was friends with Jared AND Tate independently. Juliet and Fallon probably wouldn't have been friends with Jared without Tate, and Jax had a stronger bond with Jared than anyone else, except for Tate. Now Madoc, on the other hand, was the only one that loved Jared and Tate regardless of each other. They were separate entities to him, and his love for one was just as strong as the other.

While Madoc initially understood Jared's need for distance, he saw the toll it took on Tate--how she withdrew--and he felt, at the time, that Tate needed the reassurance of his commitment more. He wanted to take care of her, and yes, he was a angry with Jared. Was he correct for abandoning him? Probably not. But remember that Jared's departure was hard on everyone, and Madoc felt he lost a brother just as much as Jax had, and he hated seeing Tate hurting. After what she went through in high school and then having her heart broken, yes, he wanted to be there for her and be on her side, no matter how much he cared for his best friend.

It didn't take much for Jared to win Madoc back, though. As soon as he saw that he wanted Tate back, and that Jared had, in fact, needed him, he put it behind him.

I hope that answers your question!
