While I agree with them, personally, I think the biggest change would have been Amir's view of his father. I think he would have looked at his father a little differently and not hero-worshiped him as much. Most of Amir's actions were based on wanting to win his father's approval, including his desire to win the kite-flying competition and get the kite back, which ultimately led to Hassan getting raped. Maybe if he had known Hassan was his half-brother before, Hassan would have never had to go through that.(less)
