When you start brainstorming for a new book, do you start with the plot and then create characters that work with it? Or do you start with the characters and build the plot around them? Thanks! I hope your writing is going well :)

Penelope Douglas It's always different. With Bully, I started with characters, and with Corrupt I started with the plot. It just depends on what pops in your head. I think the best thing to do is think about a story you want to read or a situation you'd like to be in and start dreaming a story around that. You have to love it, and if you don't, change it until you do.

And think of subplots. There are thousands of friends to lovers or stepbrother taboo, but what will set yours apart? The story should be new with different levels to it.
