Your English seems just fine to me, Angela. But truthfully, inspiration is a hard thing to parse. "Melancholia" was what gave me the idea, but as for what made me want to tell this story, it's sorta one of those unanswerable, semi-mystical questions. I loved the concept, and I knew I could say something important through the concept. That was enough to get me excited. Sorry if that answer is super-lame, but it means the world to me that the book has affected you so strongly. :)
