My husband, Jon, and I have travelled in Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Europe over the past 23 years and loved it all! Mexico continued to call us back. We decided that we enjoyed traveling in our motorhome and wanted to spend longer periods in Mexico. We traveled much of Baja California one year, as far as Mulegé. By the next year, we were up to a six week stretch for our winter vacation and decided to travel in our motorhome to Mazatlán, on the Pacific coast of mainland Mexico. We read every book and article we could find about motorhoming and living in Mexico, including requirements for crossing the border, requirements for taking our dog, safety tips, how to tow our VW Bug, and how to stay healthy while eating the food and drinking the water. We had the best vacation ever! We were hooked on traveling in Mexico!
Now we live in our motorhome full-time, six months in Mexico and six months in the United States. I wanted other people to know that Mexico and its people are so much more beautiful than the news portrays. I wrote "Healthy Living and Traveling in Mexico" to encourage others to give Mexico a chance when they plan their travels.
