When do you expect your next book, "Outremer", to be released?

I wish I knew, Lawrence. I do know I won't be able to meet the deadline of next spring. If I can get it finished before the end of next year, my publisher will bring it out in 2017. I used to be given three years to do one of my historical novels, and that was doable. But it is very stressful to try to write one of my novels in only two years; the research alone is very time consuming.

If you were your own life-coach, and had to come up with a patch that would improve one area of your life (your writing or personal life) for 2016, what area would that be, and what would you tell yourself to do differently? I just listened to When Christ and His Saints Slept on Audible and it was wonderful! I read it back when it was first published and own it it hardback. Do you know if there are any plans to record the next two books? Also, Are there any plans to record the Here be Dragons trilogy?

I can pinpoint the exact moment I knew I would spend my life researching, writing about, and teaching American history (I walked in on my parents walking Gettysburg on a rainy day over summer vacation). Do you have a moment as vivid as this for when you fell in love with Medieval history? What was it that caused such a passion?
