Ayunda
Ayunda asked Sarah Alderson:

How much research did you do when making novels, especially for the setting of the stories? And what is your favourite time to write?

Sarah Alderson It depends on the book of course but usually a fair bit. For Out of Control I spoke to friends who work on human trafficking issues for the UN and also to a friend who trains people on personal security and what to do in the event of kidnapping etc. I also interviewed someone who works in danger zones about the contents of a 'go bag'.
For my last Mila Gray book I did a lot of reading up on Post Traumatic Stress.
In terms of setting almost all my books are set in places where I have lived or at least travelled.
My favourite time to write is whenever I feel inspired, but as it's also a job (I screenwrite as well as write novels) I have to treat it as such. So I get up and set myself deadlines every day for how many words or pages I'm going to get done. :)
