There is more romance in it than Oleander but it also talks a lot about the relationship between a mother, sister, and older daughter. The lovely bones very sad and poetic. It is written in the perspective of a dead 12 year old who watches how her family and friends change after she has been murdered (and also raped). I've read it twice it is equally sad and beautiful. A certain slant of light is also good to read. Story isn't similar but it is written beautifully. Talks a lot about death, life and religion. (less)
