Brooke asked Kristen Ashley:

What language inspired you to create the Korwahk language?

Kristen Ashley There wasn't a language that inspired the Korwahk language. It was more sounds. I wrote that book when living in England (across the Bristol Channel from Wales). The Welsh accent is sooooo...very...beautiful. It's sing-songy. Just so pretty to listen to and very calming.

I wanted to build something like that into the Korwahk language. Something gentle and soothing. With all Circe was seeing and experiencing, it's nigh on impossible for her to take it all in and not be paralyzed by fear. I wanted this language to surround her, subliminally sharing that these people were very, VERY different to those of her world, but they could be gentle. Tender. Kind.

So that's what inspired the Korwahk language. :_)
