Too many. I literally mean it... Too many episodes and volumes. Episode 1 to 93 is amazing, but after that it takes a big downhill dive. Too many flashbacks, too many fillers to the point where you just want to do a table flip out of frustration. The producers really want to milk the franchise out like Pokemon. The manga is a bit better than the anime, but it lacks the amazing naruto background music. That's why I prefer the anime (with all its flaws) more than the manga.
But coming back to your question. The manga has finished (700 chapters), and the anime is about the finish. The series has some big flaws compared to other animes, but for me it's still one of my favorite animes of all time. That's mainly because of my high emotional attachment to the characters. Kishimoto really knows how to play my sentimental strings.
