Hi Don,
Thanks for asking this question. I absolutely did feel uncomfortable writing some of the scenes in this book. Sometimes that helps me know that I'm on the right track. I knew that if I felt entirely comfortable writing it I wouldn't have accurately portrayed the horrors of this misogynistic world. Or I would have become immune to them, which might be even worse.

Congrats on finishing the new book :-) I will be picking it up, when I have finish my 6 books reading challenge. I was wondering what you do, when you get an idea to a character, how do you go from an idea to a "person"? Do you ask yourself questions about the character?
