How do you get inspired to write?

James R. Callan Interesting ideas are all around. Once my mind latches on to one, it will keep popping up, along with questions. Where would I set the story? Who would be the perfect protagonist? How about (insert type of character) for a sidekick? Who is the antagonist? What will I need to research? And on and on. At some point, I begin to hear snatches of conversation that would fit into the novel. Once that happens, I know it is time to get started. I'm inspired and can't put it aside.
