It's what my therapist told me when I was on the verge of writing Going Gay, "If you're going to follow your passion, you've got to let go of the little things that keep you from pursuing it." In other words, let go of the lesser responsibilities and pick up the bigger one of writing your story. People need to hear your story more than you need to have a spotless house.
