Goodreads asked Daniel R. Mathews:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Daniel R. Mathews For "The Demons of Plainville," the response is a little difficult. This book is a non-fiction memoir, so I lived the events of the book. What propelled me to actually write about these events is the difficult part. Those years are in many ways a blur to me, and all these years later I still replay them in my mind. There is no better way to encapsulate and explore an event than to write about it. Beyond the concept of helping myself understand what happened, I know there are many people who either are surviving similar events or are trying to pick up the pieces. So it is my hope that sharing this work can help others likewise survive and find a way to keep going, while hopefully being a little entertaining in the process.
