If you're a writer looking to get published, the best advice I can give you is don't give up. Getting published is 20% skill, 70% perseverance, and 10% luck, and there's no point in beating yourself up over the luck part. Work on your skills every day, and keep trying. Yeah, some of your peers are going to find some luck earlier than you, and it's going to feel like you're never going to catch up to them, but you will. That's where the perseverance comes in.

I'm also left-handed and I loved how you made a point to have Alex notice Miles' left-handedness. How did you decide to make that a thing in the story? Are you left-handed?
