I'm curious. I've not read your novel "Smoke" yet, but it's on my list of books to purchase very soon! Where did you get your idea for the story from? How did you do your research for the book (such as talking to fire departments or visiting wildland fire scenes)? Did you ever experience anything of the book in person? Thanks!
