Goodreads asked Pat Leonard:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Pat Leonard Just start writing… anything. Lists, memories, things you hope for. Being a former advertising copywriter, I'm very familiar with "product features" and "bullet points." Write down the ideas you want to develop in just one or two words. Add a word or phrase here or there. Walk away and come back later. Revise. In other words, don't try to attack the block head-on. Work around it. Undermine it. Do the easy stuff first. Soon you'll find you're back on track.
