Cassandra asked Bill Konigsberg:

Hi Mr. Konigsberg! I'm reading Out of the Pocket right now and I adore your writing style. Everytime I set out to write a book, I lose my energy for it within days. How do you keep your love for a story from burning out? Does this just mean their bad ideas or that I'm not working on them hard enough?

Bill Konigsberg Oops. I didn't see this! It's hard to keep your love for a story from burning out, because generally you will never feel more excited about a book than you will at the start. The answer is that you have to write through the period where you lose interest. Just keep going, and have faith that you will rediscover your excitement, because you generally will!
