Goodreads asked C.P. Klapper:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

C.P. Klapper The inability of our elected federal office servers to solve the debt crisis, to keep the government open or to restart the economy, combined with media focus on those issues rather than my solution to the problem of ending poverty in "Popular Capitalism", as well as the expected objection that "we could not afford anything like that right now" from those who had not bothered to read my earlier work and from those who were actively discouraging others from buying that pivotal book for fear that it would disrupt the "narrative" of their propaganda, all these considerations gave me the idea that I ought to first dispel those concerns by solving the three crisis to which I earlier alluded and by publishing their solution. The gem of their solution was in "Popular Capitalism", though the approach there was general rather than specific or topical. It therefore did not require much additional thought to come up with my invention of "Electronic Revenue Credits" as the vehicle for the solution of the debt, government closure and inactive economy crises. "The Way Out" flowed immediately as an exposition of that solution.
