Thanks for asking Mark. I've just started research on another trilogy or maybe a longer series. I don't have a story formed yet, and characters even less so, but I'm pretty set on writing about Vikings in North America a thousand years ago. Although I will be using the Earth's geography and sticking fairly closely to history in terms of weapons, clothing etc, this next series is likely to be more fantastic and less based on known history than Age of Iron.

Did you write all three books straight through, or have a break after each? If the second, and you published the first without having finished the second, did the publicity and publishing stuff distract you from writing the second one? At what point did you pitch to an agent?

Is there a map to go with the Age of Iron? Those familiar with southern England may be able to identify the places where the action occurs - google suggests that 'Maidun Castle' is Maiden Castle in Dorset, and I'm guessing at Anglesey, the Bristol Channel, Glastonbury Tor for other locations. But where's Big Bugger Hill? It would be great to have an image that overlays a modern map. (Read on kindle)
