Hi Penny, One of the many reasons why I love your books is that: I always learn something new and they help me with my language skills(non-native speaker here, yay). From bitcoins to satellites, it's amazing(pie-worthy amazing!) My question is the following: why did you choose these matters? Greetings from Hungary :)

Thanks for your question!
I chose topics which are of interest to me. Also, I suppose I don't see why romance novels can't focus on timely or relevant world issues. I enjoy learning about new things. I'm a curious person. I write my books with the assumption that there are romance readers out there who are also interested in current events.
Bitcoins are a fascinating topic (as an egalitarian currency) and they make a lot of sense. It will be interesting to see what happens with cryptocurrency over the next several years...
And I've read several of Elon Musk's papers on affordable internet delivery to under served areas. The Economist *just* covered this topic about a month ago (good timing). Really, over the next 20-30 years, the biggest obstacle for rural areas (and the 3rd world) to overcome will be lack of connectivity to the internet and access to technology/resources.
The foster care system in the United States is HORRIBLY broken. As a human, I find it troubling that no politicians seem interested in fixing it.
In my next book (Winston Brothers #1) I'll cover ethical issues related to invention and consumer usage of technology. If a criminal uses a new technology for nefarious purposes, how culpable is the inventor?
