I am seeing a lot of reviews here that are primarily concerned with the rightness, or wrongness, if the death penalty. Is this book more of a political statement, than general fiction? If many of you think it it is more 'political', I think I will postpone reading it, because it is not what I am looking for now. Thank you ahead of time!

Wendy Turner I didn't find it political at all either. I found it weird that anyone would want to go watch someone die, no matter what they did to your loved one. It's just like in the western days going to watch a hanging... a bit morbid! I guess some people see it as closure.
0000000 I liked this book. It was so real to me, that is to say, the characterization is very good. Some of the plot can be predicted, but it is not a big fault. It's an easy read that you won't want to put down.
