I first read it in high school and loved it though there are parts I didn't appreciate as fully then as I do as an adult.

This is an interesting question. I was introduced to the book in my 30s. I starting talking about the book with my family while my children were pre-teen. They read the Letters for themselves in their mid-teen years. I guess it just depends on the child and how often the child's family discusses religion. As a general rule, I would suggest 15 or so.
