Maybe I'm being a bit gormless (don't feel you have to answer that part of the question) but who was the father of Emily's child? I thought that that was going to be the spoiler. You got the impression that it wasn't Chris, that she had been abused ('evidence' from the art therapist) which had caused her feelings of hopelessness and no way out. Any ideas? Did I just miss it?

I thought in view of her positive teenage life that she could come out of her depression (even without Chris).
