I'm exited that we’ll get another Riyria book this year, and I already know what I'm getting my dad for Christmas. There’s one thing I haven't seen you mention about the issue, though: an audio book. Would it be possible to release the audio book in 2016 since the book is already out, or does it count as an individual competing work? If so, might it be produced after Rhist comes out? It’s just not Riyria without Tim.

Hey Trine, I'm glad you are excited about the third Riyria Chronicle book, Death of Dulgath. It will make a great Christmas gift. The people who back the Kickstarter will probably be able to get them a few weeks ahead of the official release, if you want to be notified when the Kickstarter launches here is a link to sign up. There are going to be some special discounts for early contributors, which is why I have the sign-up form.
As to the audio book. Yes! There will be one for this title. In fact, I signed that contract last year...and Tim Gerard Reynolds will be the narrator. My plan (and hope) is that the audio release will be simultaneously released with the print/ebooks but it might slip a bit. The issue is I don't have a completed manuscript to put in Tim's hand and the producer doesn't know definitely when they can schedule the recording time.
As to the competing issue. The Del Rey contract doesn't have audio rights (just print and ebook) so there is no restriction on the audio release date like there is on the other versions. For those reading this who don't know...the third Chronicle book has to be released before the end of the year. So, yes if we somehow miss the "simultaneous" release date, the audio will come out just as soon as it can. That would likely be January or February 2016. We won't have to wait until after Rhist to have that one in audio.
I totally agree that it wouldn't be Riyria without Tim...and of course I don't know what will be on his plate when the manuscript is done. If he is booked then I'd rather delay the release then lose him as the narrator. So that might affect the date as well.
Thanks for asking. The "fate" of the audio is in pretty good shape. It's not restricted like the print/ebook and Tim is attached...those are the two most important points, and the timing is important, but ultimately secondary.

Hey! Would it be ONE Kickstarter for ALL 5 Riyria books, or would each book get its’ own Kickstarter? And the books will match the size of the hardcover editions of Death of Dulgath and Winter’s Daughter, right??? Also... just so you know, I am willing to pay extra for the color block dust jacket. Thanks for doing this for us, it gives me a headache just thinking about allthis I can’t imagine what it’s like for you!

I was told recently that editors are disliking the use of euphemisms. They don't want you to use anything other than pronouns and the character's name. So, in other words, you can't refer to one of your characters at the 'big warrior', or call someone as 'Fred's mother'. This also goes for body parts. You have to call an eye an eye, you can't call it an orb or any other descriptive word. Have you run into this?

Is there anyway to get hardcover volumes of the Riyria Revealations and the Riyria Chronicles?
