Anthea
Anthea asked Richard Bach:

How do you write courageously about your spiritual experiences, like you did in "The Bridge Across Forever"?

Richard Bach Good question. When the editors at the publisher read the first draft they did not much care for the person I was on the pages. "Is there anything about you," they said, "that a reader might like?"
"Hmm." I said. "I'm nice to raccoons..."
So the paragraph about the raccoons, and given them marshmallows when I was barnstorming, that was inserted in the beginning.
I think if a writer confesses some difficult truths about himself or herself, I think that most readers will say, "Not good. But I'm still reading."
Some, of course, close the book forever.
