Kumari de Silva The character "Enoch" describes himself as having wise blood, like his father - which is to mean he knows intuitively what he must do. As much of the book focuses on themes of organized verses naive religion, you might look at "wise blood" as following the natural religion of your own instinct
Odette Petrini Blood is also a reference to Christ - Catholics drink the blood of Christ(wine) as part of the ritual of the Eucharist.
Alex Stone Blood is a recurring theme. Not blood, like actual blood, but rather the concept of blood representing both ties to one's family and blood as intuition.
