Do we learn why Lily's world didn't have a Rowan? 'Cause that was a riddle I couldn't figure out while reading TBF :)

Josephine Angelini There's a few reasons why there is no Rowan. The first is historical--the Outlanders don't exist in our world, so his conception is based on a series of events that never occur in Lily's world. The other reason is something that Lily unravels as she starts to understand Lillian better. Lillian specifically chose Lily because Lily had no Rowan. If she did, Lillian knew Lily would never leave him.
