I make lots of spidergrams ( flow charts) I don't try to force a story. I let lots of ideas flow onto the chart. Sometimes I put the ideas on post it notes then I can re arrange them in a sequence later. I then sleep on the ideas. It's amazing where the plots come from after I've slept on the ideas.
