Goodreads asked Eric Zweig:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Eric Zweig When I wanted to write my first book, I asked a cousin who was a writer what to do. He basically said, "If you want to write something, write something." Honestly, at the time, I thought that was sort of flippant and useless, but I soon realized he was right! If you want to be an athlete, or a musician, you have to practice. If you want to be a doctor or a lawyer, you have to study. If you want to be a writer, you have to write.
