Let no one tell you that you can't write. You must decide why you're writing. Is it for you or for others?
Truly the writing should be for you. I never allow others to negate what comes from my heart. If they do well then they must not have been meant to read my stories.
Do it... the first step is the hardest. The hardest for you personally is overcoming your fear that it won't be good enough.
If you're having fun doing it, then that shows it is good.
If you're drudging through stop and wait just a bit. Wait until you are in a good place to create what you desire. It takes time, be patient.
Whether a short story or a novel.. just have fun!
