How do you get inspired to write?

Heather L. Nelson I can't write unless inspired to. Inspiration comes after the idea pops into my head, niggles there for quite awhile, then after lots of thinking about what I want to say, wondering if anyone else would like to know the story and deciding yes, they would, and then putting the words down and developing the story line. I guess this is inspiration, but it seems just a natural flow. I love words, I love the English language, and I enjoy writing. Reading has always been a love of mine. I know kids today have many option of activities to fill their time, video games, hundreds of TV channels, Netflix, etc, but there is nothing like holding a book in your hands and feeling connected to the characters.
