Yeah, there's a lot of gore. I don't remember bad language or sexual scenes.
Strange gods and/or rituals- well, it uses a lot of religious imagery, like The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and the main character is sometimes said to be the son of Herne (Hoern? I don't quite remember), who is the forest god. Also there's some splinter groups that have weird rituals and are generally looked down on.

'A true bookworm' asking about strange gods lmao.

"Strange gods" herein having the meaning of...? If you're asking whether or not the book references gods of any kind, then yes. Strange gods? Not at all. Herne is an interpretation of the Herne from English folklore-- a hunter or keeper of the forest. As for adult language and sexual content, there is none. There is, however, a bit of blood and gore-- but not much more than you'd see in gritty nature documentaries.
